Brother Sean
I was born into a family who always nurtured my faith. I was encouraged to participate in Church activities; as an altar boy and a musician/singer in choirs and youth groups. Throughout my adolescence, I felt a strong calling to the ministry of the Church.
During my teens, I became more engaged in the social aspects of my parish. I helped deliver food to the needy and continued to offer my gift of music. I was appointed Youth Minister and shared my faith journey and prayer life with other young people.
In 1986, following the example of my grandfather and father, I joined the Knights of Columbus. I entered university and began studies towards the Priesthood. After the death of my father, I decided to discern a new path to fulfil God’s plan for me. With guidance from my spiritual director, I pursued a vocation to the religious life by contacting the Little Brothers of the Good Shepherd.
In 1994, I entered the BGS Noviceship Program professing first vows in 1996 and perpetual vows in 1999. Having served in BGS ministries in the United States, England, Canada and Haiti, I currently serve as manager of dormitory services at Good Shepherd Centre in Hamilton, Ontario. This involves case management with the guests who stay in our overnight shelter. I am also actively involved in further education as a p/t student in Mohawk College, pursuing a certificate in the field of Social Services.
My greatest joy in being a Brother of the Good Shepherd is having the privilege to serve and journey with our less fortunate brothers and sisters.
