VOCATIONS
VOWED MEMBERSHIP
The call to live our the Christian life is rooted in the gospels and mandate of Jesus Christ to love God and
neighbor with complete personal commitment. A vocation to the religious
life is one way of growing towards perfect Christian love.
Living the life of a religious Brother is one of several ways of achieving Christian maturity. The grace given by God to choose this life is called a Religious Vocation. Our motto, "Charity Unlimited" is a calling to love without end, even until it hurts, embracing those that others avoid: the homeless, the abandoned, the orphaned, the disabled, the elderly, and people living with HIV/AIDS.
Bound by vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience, the Brothers work wherever they are needed in a spirit of joy and service.
A call to the religious life is a gift of grace from God to live out the
perfection of Christian love through consecration and service to others.
The particular vocation of the Little Brothers of the Good Shepherd is an
invitation to respond to God's grace through a life of prayer, community, and
apostolic service in imitation of Jesus, the Good Shepherd, who gave up His
life for His sheep.
Any mature, single, Roman Catholic
male who is of sound spiritual, physical, and mental health may become a
Little Brother of the Good Shepherd. A vocation counselor can assist you
in discerning a possible vocation to life and ministry within the
Congregation.
